About The Position
Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Class A- Shift Lead Bus Mechanic with supervisory experience for the PM shift for their Clearwater, FL location. The pay range is $28.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience. A $2500 sign-on bonus is offered. The shift is 2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm.
Requirements
- 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
- Must have supervisory skills and experience
- Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments
- Must have own tools
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills
Nice To Haves
- CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus
- Willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable
Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
- Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
- Inspections and road tests
- Warranty and repair documentation
- Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
- Respond to road calls
- Basic welding/fabrication
- Train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners
