About The Position

Denali is the leading organic recycling company on a mission to unlock the power of unused food and organics, transforming them into resources to feed, fuel and replenish the earth. This Class A or Class B CDL Tanker Driver position involves safely operating a pump truck or vacuum tanker unit while servicing established customer oil collection routes. The role includes collecting used cooking oil from commercial customers, transporting materials safely, and delivering outstanding customer service. Drivers will operate specialized pumping equipment, maintain accurate service documentation, perform DOT vehicle inspections, and represent Denali professionally at customer locations. This is a Safety-Sensitive Position requiring sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to protecting the safety of yourself, your coworkers, customers, and the public.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Tanker Endorsement Required
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check
  • Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent attendance and reliability
  • Basic computer, smartphone, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating pump trucks or vacuum tanker units
  • Previous used cooking oil collection experience
  • Tanker or liquid bulk hauling experience
  • Experience in environmental services, waste, recycling, or transportation industries
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience operating hydraulic pumping equipment

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A or Class B commercial vehicle equipped with a pump truck or vacuum tanker unit.
  • Service established oil collection routes at restaurants, commercial kitchens, and food service customers.
  • Pump and transport used cooking oil in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Push, pull, and maneuver 50-gallon oil containers on wheels throughout customer locations.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily DOT inspections on trucks, trailers, pumps, hoses, and related equipment.
  • Safely connect, operate, and disconnect pumping equipment during oil collection.
  • Maintain accurate route logs, service tickets, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service while building positive customer relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations, and customers regarding route updates or service concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of trucks, tankers, hoses, and equipment.
  • Report equipment issues, accidents, injuries, spills, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, company, and customer safety policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
