About The Position

Thomann Asphalt is a family-owned full-service asphalt paving company with over 100 years of experience, specializing in commercial and industrial paving and sitework projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Class A Lowboy Driver to join our team immediately. This is a local position, allowing drivers to return home each night.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Class A CDL license in good standing – No previous tickets or accidents
• Experience operating standard construction heavy equipment e.g., bulldozers, excavators, and loaders is required
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work well with others, take direction, and adapt to changes
• Safety-minded, self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Able to pass random drug and alcohol screenings
• Adherence to the attendance policy

Nice To Haves

• Lowboy experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DOT and Company rules and regulations, as well as applicable DOT paperwork.
• Safely transport heavy construction equipment to various job sites, ensuring proper loading, securement, and unloading.
• Maintain constant contact with Foreman for instructions and to report safety issues.
• Maneuver and control the vehicle safely in various on-site and over-the-road situations, including proper signaling, hazard identification, speed control, lane positioning, and adapting to road conditions and day/night driving.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift and report any problems or damage.
• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
• Understand the air brake system if the vehicle is equipped with one.
