Now offering signing bonuses Class A - $4,500 JOB SUMMARY: Fit-up and weld carbon steel and stainless steel assemblies in accordance with established Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and work instructions to achieve specified weld quality that meets criteria of post weld testing requirements. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and supplies in safe working order. Must be able to function effectively in a team based environment, maintain a clean work are, maintain HSE compliance standards including proper utilization of all required PPE and adherence to related safety procedures. Requirements

  • Specialized welding training and/or 8+ years of related welding experience with a demonstrated skill proficiency at an advanced level, or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and skill proficiency.
  • Skilled in at least 3 of the following processes GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW, or SAW.
  • Pass a 3g plate test in mig/fluxcore.
  • Pass a 6g all Tig with a 1/2 " schedule 160 pipe.
  • Skilled fitter with verifiable experience.
  • Pass a written fitter test.
  • Consistently demonstrate code quality. Proficient in the following codes: API, B313, UW51, UW52, B1.1, STS, etc.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to use various measuring equipment.
  • Able to use positioners and pinwheels.
  • Demonstrated experience with set up, layout, blueprint reading, weld symbols, and joint configuration.
  • Familiar with mismatch tolerances.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and supplies in a safe working order.
  • Possess sufficient visual acuity and depth perception to accomplish job tasks.
  • Possess manual dexterity such as reaching, handling, fingering, and touching to effectively handle material and operate welding equipment.
  • Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in Company duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the petrochemical industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand blueprints/engineering specifications.
  • Interact effectively with persons inside and outside the Company to accomplish job tasks.
  • Perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements including trigonometry and geometry.
  • Work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain and process job-related paperwork effectively.
  • Handle multiple priorities.
  • Go up and down stairs.
  • Perform unaccompanied travel.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Stand 8 or more hours per day.
  • Operate welding equipment.
  • Rig and operate equipment to move heavy loads.
  • Lift/maneuver 70lbs unassisted.
  • Stand or walk all of the workday.
  • Stoop and kneel frequently.
  • Tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with welding and industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Apply appropriate safety equipment when required.
  • Work overtime as required.
