Class A Driver
About The Position
This is a regional over-the-road route, not a home-daily job. You will run a dedicated territory delivering helium cylinders to established, repeat customers. The work involves safely delivering helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers, loading and unloading cylinders, returning empties to the fill plant, performing daily vehicle safety inspections, completing delivery paperwork, maintaining DOT compliance, and building relationships with regular customers while helping manage their inventory needs. The company provides a brand new trailer and tractor. The work environment includes outdoor temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees, and the ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell is required.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
- Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
- Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
- Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
