Entry Level Class A Driver
About The Position
Drivers from the Zanesville area are joining a regional fleet that provides training and consistent work. The first two months involve training with an experienced driver for 4 to 6 weeks, earning $850 per week while learning trip planning, backing, customer stops, and electronic logs on live freight. After training, drivers get their own truck with a $1,000 weekly guarantee for the first 3 months solo. Routes primarily cover the eastern seaboard, averaging around 2,500 miles per week with dry van freight, mostly drop and hook with some live stops. Drivers are home every two weeks. Once settled, drivers can expect to earn $1,200 to $1,400 weekly, with mileage pay starting at 55 cents per mile and increasing with experience, topping out at 65 cents. Additional pay includes $15 per stop and a monthly performance bonus.
Requirements
- 21 or older with a Class A CDL
- 120+ hours at an accredited CDL school, or 6 months OTR in the last 12 (12 months in 5 years also qualifies)
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
- No major preventable accidents in 5 years
- No DUI/DWI in 5 to 10 years
- Ready to pass a DOT physical and hair plus urine drug testing
- Living within 200 miles of Columbus, OH
