About The Position

PACE Supply’s Oakland, CA branch is hiring experienced and dedicated Class A Drivers. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of heavy-duty vehicles to transport goods and materials, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and safety standards. The company emphasizes prioritizing driver safety, well-being, and comfort, with the promise of being home every night and weekends off.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A license with a "T" endorsement (doubles, triples, tankers).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Medical Certification Clearance Card.
  • FMSC Clearinghouse registration.
  • O.T Registered.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Minimum of two years of previous delivery experience of wholesale products and warehouse environments preferred.
  • Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices.
  • MUST HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCE.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse, plumbing, retail/customer service and forklift experience is also desirable, but not required.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicles in a safe, responsible manner, following all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
  • Plan efficient routes, maintain accurate records of deliveries, and communicate with dispatch and customers to ensure timely drop-offs.
  • Handle cargo with care, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, report any maintenance issues promptly, and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
  • Follow hours-of-service regulations, take required breaks, and ensure compliance with DOT standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and any required paperwork for compliance and tracking.
  • Ensure the vehicle is properly secured before transit and maintain a clean, organized interior and exterior.
