About The Position

Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck at an excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; to specified destinations and locations.

Requirements

• CDL Class A license
• Clean driving record to remain insurable
• A minimum of two years long distance driving experience
• High skill level driving heavy trucks
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
• Acceptable written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
• Must have initiative and the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Must possess a strong desire to learn

Responsibilities

• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drives trucks or equipment to assigned location.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
• Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance on trucks or equipment.
• Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
• When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department.
• Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
• Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of vehicle or equipment.
• Must work with and for all departments in harmony.
