About The Position

Maine Oxy is looking to fill a Class A Driver with a Hazmat Endorsement position based in Orlando, FL. Our Class A Driver (w/Hazmat) will deliver Helium compressed gas cylinders to customers on scheduled route, returning with empty cylinders. A typical work week is Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities (including weekends) during peak season (January through June). This position will typically have overnights 3-4 nights per week, depending on the delivery area being covered. The route structure covers territories in FL, GA, and SC, divided into 4 zones with one zone per week, generally staying in the same area all week. This is not a home-daily position and requires overnight travel 3-4 nights per week.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year driving experience or driving school training in the past 4 years.
• CDL A License with HazMat.
• Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public.
• Understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25lbs to 75lbs and occasionally lift 76lbs to greater than 100lbs.
• Ability to smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver helium cylinders to established customers
• Load/unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
• Build relationships with repeat customers and help manage their inventory needs
