About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and other building materials to customer job sites. Responsibilities include securing and inspecting loads, operating delivery equipment, unloading materials safely and accurately, ensuring on-time deliveries, and following all DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Manual transmission experience required.
  • Experience backing trailers safely in a variety of environments.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites and job locations safely.
  • Ability to operate a computer and calculator.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to respond to issues quickly and handle them in a calm, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 4–10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb as needed.
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment.
  • Ability to operate in interstate commerce and travel across state lines as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a Moffett forklift preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
  • Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
  • Organize and secure loads to ensure safe and efficient transport.
  • Verify accuracy of loads with the yard manager before departure.
  • Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from the job site.
  • Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks and forklifts, including wearing seat belts at all times.
  • Adhere to yard loading and security procedures.
  • Accurately process merchandise returns with a credit memo.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned yard and areas.
  • Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
