About The Position
At Bunzl, we consider our Drivers as the heart of our business, serving as both ambassadors for the company and the key point of contact with our customers. Our Drivers are valued as a trusted partner and an essential member of the Bunzl family. This role involves safely driving and operating a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and delivering goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations. Additionally, the role requires accurately picking products based on customer orders, ensuring picked items match order requirements, and safely operating warehouse equipment. The driver will also manage cargo loading/unloading, provide excellent customer service, and ensure vehicle maintenance.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.
- Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to pass background check, drug tests, and maintain an active medical card.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of Driving experience.
- Experience with GPS and routing software.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
- Accurately pick products based on customer orders.
- Ensure all picked items are in good condition and match the order requirements (quantity, quality, etc.).
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.
- Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.
