Class A Delivery Driver (Lakeland)
About The Position
Cavalier Distributing is a beverage distributor serving Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. Founded in 1992, the company partners with suppliers of craft and import beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Cavalier serves over 10,000 accounts with a focus on exceptional customer service, environmentally friendly practices, and knowledgeable sales expertise. The Class A Driver will be responsible for manual lifting and driving, delivering products to customers, and picking up products from suppliers. This role requires a dependable and organized CDL-A driver with significant physical and mental stamina, who adheres to company policies, federal, state, and local regulations for safe commercial vehicle operation. Detail-orientation, efficiency, and a clean driving record are essential.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with supervisor, current and prospective customers on a professional level and to communicate effectively.
- Ability to speak and write the English language at least at the high school level is required.
- Ability to add and subtract, using whole numbers and decimals.
- Excellent customer relation skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to process information/merchandise.
- Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Must have a Class A unexpired driver's license.
- Must have a current unexpired DOT medical certificate.
- Ability to read maps/directions and operate GPS units.
- Must pass criminal background check, driving record, drug & alcohol screen and any other information as required by state and federal regulations and by the Company.
Nice To Haves
- Previous day cab driving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drives a commercial vehicle safely.
- May occasionally have to make a customer delivery or pickup.
- Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
- Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
- Comply with DOT regulations.
- Make safety a priority at all times.
