About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is the delivery of all materials in a safe, timely, and orderly manner that helps ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves operating a Class A CDL vehicle, ensuring compliance with all DOT and Company requirements, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries. Duties also include assisting customers in the yard or warehouse, pulling orders, and maintaining inventory when not on deliveries.

Requirements

  • All drivers of company vehicles must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Class A CDL Driver license.
  • Minimum of three years experience driving similar-type delivery vehicles OR a minimum of one year experience with documented training from a professional and certified training school or association.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Good math and reading skills are required.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a friendly and helpful manner is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a professional driving school or association is highly preferred.
  • A basic knowledge of construction and or building materials is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all materials in a safe, timely, and orderly manner.
  • Comply with all DOT and Company requirements for drivers.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean and safe manner.
  • Report any accidents immediately.
  • Load truck or confirm loading according to pick ticket or invoice.
  • Handle customer invoices accurately.
  • Accomplish credit returns and job site accurately.
  • Ensure no materials leave yard or warehouse without a ticket.
  • Unload materials at customer’s job site safely, neatly and courteously.
  • Log-in before and after each shipment.
  • Ensure all materials are loaded properly to ensure a safe delivery.
  • Maintain daily fuel logs or IFTA requirements as instructed.
  • Handle all customers with promptness and friendliness.
  • Maneuver safely and within the law, especially with wide loads.
  • Comply with Company safety policy.
  • Pass the Forklift Written Licensing Exam.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area (truck and trailer).
  • Report all safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
  • Assist customers on the yard or in the warehouse.
  • Pull orders for shipment.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts.
  • Maintain inventory in a neat and logical manner.
  • Be a team player and develop positive working relationships with all location personnel, Outside Sales Representatives, and other Company employees.
