About The Position

American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Class A CDL Delivery Driver at our Columbia, SC Location. This role involves using a company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers safely and courteously, picking up returns, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. The company is a manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a team of over 800 employees and a wide reach across the United States.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Class A CDL Required with Hazmat,Tanker & Airbrakes Endorsement
• Clean commercial driving record 3+ years
• Able to read and write English.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and company administered road test.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Use company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner.
• Pick up returns at customer place of business.
• Read, understand, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Comply with all DOT + OSHA Regulations.
• Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently.
• Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
