Class A Commercial Driver
About The Position
Super-Sod is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Class A CDL drivers to join their team. This role involves transporting seed, sod, and soil products regionally, ensuring efficient and reliable deliveries while adhering to safety standards. Requirements
- At least 23 years of age.
- 2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Clean driving record with no major or excessive violations within the previous 3 years.
- Must possess valid Class A CDL and Medical Card, including multi-state certification status.
- Must pass background check and drug test.
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
- Physically and mentally fit.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts.
- Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
- Map reading and route planning experience.
- An innate sense of direction.
- Self-starter who works well independently.
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
- High level of composure and good stress management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
- Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of farm products and materials.
- Perform required before-, during- and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Operate all MHE or Material Handling Equipment.
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition.
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
