About The Position

The Class A CDL Truck Driver will transport then drop and hook our products to customers and our store locations in an accurate and timely manner. The primary responsibility of the CDL Driver is to ensure safe, accurate, and timely delivery of products while adhering to all regulations and guidelines. $5,000 Sign on Bonus Eligible for New Hire, Full Time Drivers.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license with two years experience and valid Medical Card.
  • Driving in areas of NYC required: Yonkers, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
  • Must be able to drive, sit, operate/inspect vehicle, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for the entire shift. Able to balance and pull product, climb in and out of truck and lift 50 pounds comfortably.

Nice To Haves

  • Tanker endorsement preferred
  • Doubles preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily inventory, orders, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery as required.
  • Transact proper documentation in computerized hand-held device or paper.
  • Collect empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise for return.
  • Resolve discrepancies and customer complaints.
  • Verify shipment accuracy and assure saleable condition of product.
  • Safely unload and deliver products at each account.
  • Resolve discrepancies and communicate major issues to Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures and report any deficiencies.
  • Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on truck to conform to DOT regulations and company policy. This includes Pre- and Post-Trip inspections.
  • Must be courteous toward customers, be able to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, maintain neat appearance and follow established policies and directions of supervisor.
  • Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.
