About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products for residential and low-rise non-residential buildings in North America. Metal Sales is now part of the Cornerstone Building Brands family, strengthening our commitment to serving our communities where we live, work, and play with quality and innovative metal building solutions. The Driver will be expected to transport metal roofing panels, metal trims, boxed goods, crated metal panels, and coil to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities. This position is an over the road driving position up to 4 nights a week.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL License
  • Must be able to drive a manual transmission tractor
  • Valid Medical Card
  • Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
  • 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
  • Clean driving record
  • Hands on delivery experience
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Plan and manage time efficiently
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
  • Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
  • Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-drop delivery experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commercial driving and skills in maneuvering the truck and trailer at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in a tight loading dock area
  • Assist in the unloading of products and/or loading return products at customer locations and job sites
  • Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett forklift to customer’s location and/or return products
  • Deliver material in a "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in a safe and timely manner
  • Secure all loads on the trailers and check that load multiple times during the route
  • Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact
  • Perform pre & post trip inspections thoroughly
  • Verify all material delivered while being offloaded electronically or manually
  • Obtain proof of delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle & equipment
  • Immediately report any repair or maintenance needed
  • May perform other duties as assigned
