About The Position

SPEVCO is looking for a full-time, program-specific Class A CDL Tour Manager who will travel with this program full-time in the state of Florida. As a CDL Tour Manager, you'll partner with SPEVCO's Event Operations team and a Brand Ambassador partner to produce exciting and engaging Workforce Development events at high schools around the state of Florida. It is a requirement that you live in, and are a resident of, the state of Florida. You must also hold a Class A CDL from the state of Florida. This program is called "Be Pro Be Proud", and this specific tour will run solely in the state of Florida. Be Pro Be Proud is aimed at engaging high school students, exploring careers in various skilled trades such as commercial driving, welding, heavy equipment operation, and more. Positive energy, passion, and a high level of integrity are critical for this role.

Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Florida and currently live in that state.
  • Must hold a Class A CDL from the state of Florida.
  • Positive energy, passion, and a high level of integrity.
  • A valid Class A CDL driver's license with a clean driving record and a valid DOT Medical Certificate is required.
  • Clean criminal and motor vehicle background.
  • Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations.
  • Required to frequently lift and move 50-100 pounds.
  • Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, lift, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
  • Computer skills – Ability to use a tablet computer (Android-based), email, MS Suite, various Web-Based applications, ELDs, etc.

  • Impeccable commercial driving record.
  • 2 years of Class A driving experience, operating 53' trailers, preferred.
  • Experience with moving and setting up custom expandable event trailers, strongly preferred.
  • Some schools and/or school systems may require that you consent to additional background checks before arriving on-site.
  • Comfortable with limited public speaking in front of small groups and interacting with students between the ages of 13 to 18.
  • Strong client service skills and a desire to help our clients achieve their goals and make a positive impact in your community.
  • Pleasant and positive customer service skills (simply communicating in a kind way).
  • Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and technology problems with SPEVCO’s expert support.
  • Ability to self-manage, to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up a custom, double-expandable trailer and operate all of the various interactive stations and simulators onboard the trailer.
  • Travel the state of Florida, typically Monday - Friday.
  • Drive the event Tractor/Trailer (the "Mobile Workshop") to each event/school site to set up for the day.
  • Execute the day's event, and pack up for the next day's event in partnership with a Brand Ambassador.
  • Ensure the event trailer and all interactive exhibits and simulators are clean, safe, operational, and event-ready.
  • Assist in delivering the Be Pro Be Proud message to students and assist them with the interactive components of the trailer.
  • Tear down the trailer and pack exhibits each day at the end of the event.
  • Work with the point of contact at each school/event site to ensure the day's events are properly planned for.
  • Maintain a "show-ready" clean and safe vehicle and exhibit.
