About The Position

The Class A CDL Shuttle / Route Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials between customer locations, transfer sites, and disposal facilities. This role includes both route-based collections and shuttle operations, ensuring timely service while maintaining full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Drivers operate within a regional footprint and manage multiple stops daily, maintaining accurate documentation and delivering a high level of customer service. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring focus, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL (Non-Excepted Interstate)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP)
  • Experience Requirements: 23+ years old with 2+ years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience, or 21+ years old with 1 year of experience and either: Graduation from a certified truck driving school, or 1 year of military driving experience
  • Stable work history
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Load, transport, and deliver organic waste and materials across local and regional routes
  • Perform shuttle runs between customer locations, transfer stations, and processing facilities
  • Operate combination vehicles, including 30–45 ft open-top dump trailers
  • Drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles in compliance with DOT and all applicable laws
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
  • Use pallet jacks (manual/electric) as needed
  • Clean bins and containers using pressure washing equipment, ensuring customer sites are left clean and debris-free
  • Perform minor repairs to bins and equipment using basic hand tools
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and ensure proper upkeep of assigned equipment
  • Utilize electronic logging devices (ELDs) and maintain accurate DOT logs
  • Complete and submit all required documentation (service tickets, contamination reports, maintenance logs)
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and operations teams to ensure seamless service
  • Report all safety incidents, accidents, and injuries immediately
  • Accurately track and calculate material weights across multiple stops
  • Attend safety meetings, trainings, and company briefings
  • Use mobile devices and basic computer systems for communication, training, and reporting
  • Remain flexible with route assignments, including interstate routes and occasional overnight travel
  • Work extended hours as needed based on seasonal demand (up to 60 hours in 7 days or 70 hours in 8 days)
