The Semi Driver is responsible for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw material with attention to prompt and efficient customer service. This role involves running established routes, picking up raw materials, weighing in raw material when returning to the plant, and weighing in and out of customer locations as needed. The driver is responsible for the company vehicle, ensuring it is kept in clean condition and conducting all necessary safety checks and inspections. Operation of the vehicle must comply with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as company policy and procedures, while observing all company safety rules. Maintaining excellent customer relations through a professional appearance and attitude is also a key aspect of this role. The position requires completing all company-required paperwork accurately and on time, including route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, and service forms. A daily vehicle condition report must be maintained, and DOT hours of service must be managed with an onboard computer in accordance with company policy.
