About The Position

This position is ideal for a Class A CDL driver looking for consistent 5-day workweeks, daily home time, flexible early-morning start times, and strong overtime opportunities. Drivers will primarily operate end dump trailers while hauling food waste throughout the assigned service area. Drivers can generally choose their preferred start time within the 2:00 AM–5:00 AM window, allowing some flexibility based on their personal schedule. The workday ends once the assigned route is completed, so end times will vary depending on the day's route and workload. This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.

Responsibilities

  • Loading, hauling, and delivering food waste using 30–45' end dump trailers on intra- and interstate routes with multiple stops, typically ranging from 15–25 stops per day, based on routing determined by the Company.
  • Safely operate an end dump combination vehicle across a regional footprint determined by management.
  • Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements and all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Operate manual or electric pallet jacks as needed.
  • Utilize a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers and leave all client locations clean and free of debris.
  • Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Use basic hand tools to perform minor repairs to company bins and equipment.
  • Maintain basic truck equipment and overall cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Utilize the electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required.
  • Maintain paperwork, including contamination reports, service tickets, truck maintenance records, and other required documentation.
  • Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate with the corporate office/operations team regarding service, equipment, and customer service-related issues.
  • Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the Safety Manager.
  • Work a 5-day schedule with daily home time, with start times generally available between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM based on driver preference and operational needs.
  • Work until the assigned route is completed; daily end times will vary depending on route volume and completion.
  • Take advantage of strong overtime opportunities, particularly during periods of increased seasonal demand.
  • Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, trainings, or briefings.
  • Use a computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management.
  • Regardless of regularly scheduled route assignments, drivers may at any time be scheduled to work a different assignment, including interstate routes. All drivers should expect to operate in interstate commerce as needed.
