About The Position

Summerford Truck Line is a family-owned flatbed company based in Ashford, Alabama, with over 98 years and four generations in the business. We’ve grown into a nationally recognized carrier, but we still run on small-company values: safety, respect, and doing things the right way. This position is for a Regional Class A CDL Flatbed Driver (Company W2). The freight is primarily flatbed, with 50% drop & hook and 50% live load–unload. Typical weekly miles range from 2,500–3,000. Drivers are guaranteed to be home every weekend. Primary lanes are in the Southeast and surrounding regional markets.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• At least 24 months of recent tractor-trailer experience (flatbed training available for the right driver).
• Generally clean MVR: no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Strong safety record and professional attitude.
• Willingness to handle tarping.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A CDL flatbed truck.
• Transport freight primarily in the Southeast and surrounding regional markets.
• Handle 50% drop & hook and 50% live load/unload.
• Ensure safe operation of the vehicle and adherence to all traffic laws.
• Tarping loads, which is more frequent in winter than in summer.
• Manage detention and layover situations when applicable.
