About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Champion Transport LLC is looking for a Delivery Driver to distribute products to our customers. As a delivery driver your primary duty is to operate a Semi, Tractor and Trailer to deliver metal products and building supplies to our customers and their job sites. We want a Delivery Driver that will represent our Company in a professional manner. ABOUT THE COMPANY Champion Metal Supply aspires to be the most efficient metal supplier in the Midwest. Requirements

  • 1 year of work experience
  • Class A CDL Required
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Experience with Semis with Air brakes
  • Must be legal to operate a semi manual transmission.
  • Able to Drive for long periods of time
  • Able to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time
  • Able to operate a load securement including straps, chains, binders, and tarps
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and mechanical skills
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
  • Be on the road and away from home up to 2 nights a week

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain delivery vehicles.
  • Secure loads safely and according to DOT regulations.
  • Review instructions or order to ensure accurate production and deliveries.
  • Work with the Transportation Director to plan a proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Fill out and report all proper paperwork to record delivery details and DOT compliance.
  • Load and unload items from the delivery vehicle including jobsites unloads with Piggyback forklift or roll off.
  • Check materials for quality assurance, remove damaged parts, and document defects.
  • Identify the need for and perform vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Operate forklift and piggyback forklift
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
