About The Position

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities. This is a hands-on regional delivery driving position.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
  • 1 year of flatbed experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Willing to strap flatbed loads
  • Operate trailer mounted forklift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-drop delivery experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer’s location and/or return products
  • Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
  • Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
  • Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact
  • Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
  • Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
  • Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
  • May perform other duties as assigned
