About The Position

This role is for a Class A CDL Company Driver responsible for manual unloading of goods. The position operates Monday to Friday, with home daily. Drivers will distribute receipts, occasionally collect payments, maintain truck logs, and communicate with supervisors. Responsibilities include inspecting truck equipment, securing cargo, and operating a Moffett Forklift to unload racks of glass. The job requires a current and active Class A Driver’s license with a good driving record and a minimum of one year of CDL A driving experience.

Requirements

  • Current and active Class A Driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Minimum one year CDL A driving experience required
  • Must have valid CDL License
  • Must pass Driver’s Testing, DOT Physical/Drug Testing, and Background Screening
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to plan delivery routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions
  • Proficient in reading and writing English
  • Capable of working in a physically demanding work environment which includes bending; stretching; pushing, pulling, and lifting a MINIMUM of 75 LBS; and extensive fast-paced walking in all weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Steel toe boots required (not company provided)
  • Knowledge of basic math, ability to read and write the English language, and map reading skills
  • Ability to unload truck as needed
  • Someone with previous over the road experience.
  • Familiar with pre and post trip inspections and using online log systems

Nice To Haves

  • Moffett operation experience is preferred
  • Previous warehouse experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Distributes receipts for load picked up.
  • Occasionally collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone and / or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • Operate Moffett Forklift to unload racks of glass
