About The Position

Ruan is hiring local Class A CDL drivers in Richmond, California, to haul grocery products for a dedicated Whole Foods account. Drivers make multi-stop deliveries and unload products using an electric pallet jack. The position is home daily and operates five days per week, with average shifts of 8–12 hours. The current opening is for a PM shift, and weekends are required. As a union operation, schedules are awarded through union bidding based on seniority and may change at rebid time. Drivers operate late-model day cabs and pull refrigerated trailers. Snow chains may be required on mountain routes; drivers assigned to Reno and Tahoe routes year-round must have snow-chaining experience. The position pays $33.50 per hour, with overtime after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. A 40-hour workweek is guaranteed, and pay is issued weekly. Average annual earnings are $80,000–$90,000. Union benefits are offered.

Requirements

Must be at least 22 years old.
Valid Class A CDL.
At least 9 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years.
No more than 1 DOT-recordable preventable accident in the past 3 years.
Must meet DOT and FMCSA requirements.
Must create a profile with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse before hire.
Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway signs and safety instructions, respond to official inquiries, communicate with the public, and complete required reports and records.
Snow-chaining experience is required for drivers operating Reno and Tahoe routes year-round.
