About The Position
We’re looking for a dependable Part-Time Class A CDL Driver to support local heavy equipment transfers between our nearby yards. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for steady, weekday hours with no long hauls—Morning, 5 hour shift Monday through Friday! Hourly range $23-$26/hr, Paid weekly.
Requirements
- One year of commercial Class A tractor-trailer driving experience
- Current valid CDL A with good driving record
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret paperwork associated with shipping/receiving function
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to complete a full workday walking and/or standing in all reasonable weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Transport heavy equipment using tractor trailer to other yards within 5-10 mile radius
- Load, unload, and secure freight to prevent damage during transit.
- Operate company vehicles and adhere to DOT safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies
- Perform comprehensive pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
- Drive and operate equipment including backing up, tilting or raising or lowering attachments or other machine movements to facilitate transport
- Work outside in all reasonable weather conditions
- Read and interpret paperwork associated with the shipping/receiving function including but not limited to; bills of lading, shipping orders, manifests, tally sheets or export documentation.
- Communicate with customers.
