About The Position

American Driver is hiring Class A CDL drivers in Wilmington, NC. This position focuses on Eastern OTR lanes, utilizing freight moving along I-95 and the Atlantic corridor. New drivers with a Class A CDL and completed school hours are welcome and will enter a fully paid training program. The job involves no-touch dry van freight, with approximately 60% drop and hook. Drivers can expect to run Eastern routes with consistent year-round freight, averaging 2,200–2,500 miles per week. Dispatch is available for both day and night shifts.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Completed at least 120 hours at an accredited CDL school.
• No major violations in the last 3 years.
• No DUI in the last 5 years.
• Must pass a hair follicle and urine drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Complete a 4-6 week fully paid training program with a dedicated mentor.
• Handle live freight from day one, including real loads and routes.
• Learn and adhere to ELD, HOS, inspection, and daily operations procedures.
• Operate assigned Freightliner or Kenworth trucks (2022–2025 models) equipped with APUs.
• Transport no-touch dry van freight primarily through drop and hook operations.
• Run Eastern routes with consistent year-round freight.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
