About The Position

Class A CDL driver (Regional Driver) is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients. A Class A CDL driver has acquired a commercial driver's license (CDL) to operate trucks or commercial vehicles to transport materials and heavy equipment. This role requires a high level of professionalism, customer service, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration). Requirements

  • 49 CFR 391
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL Driver.
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Must have successfully completed a driver’s road test and have been issued a certificate of driver’s road test or possess a valid commercial driver’s license.
  • Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Must have a valid operator’s license for the type of vehicle which they are assigned to drive.
  • Must be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with 49 CFR Part 391.41
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instruction
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Safely load, transport, and unload goods according to delivery schedules.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, hours of service.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to GEODIS policies and procedures, including safety protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all delivery points.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or delays promptly to the appropriate parties.
  • Other duties as required and assigned
