About The Position

M. Price Distributing is seeking a Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join their team. This is a full-time position with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, offering the opportunity to be home every day. The driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of products to customers, operating company equipment, and maintaining accurate paperwork. The company is a third-generation family-owned business with a strong commitment to its employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record based on established company guidelines
  • Maintain a DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate as required by law
  • Be able to lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a continual basis and up to 170 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire and random drug test
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Responsibilities

  • Safely and professionally operate a commercial motor vehicle
  • Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record based on established company guidelines
  • Maintain a DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate as required by law
  • Be able to lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a continual basis and up to 170 lbs.
  • Use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as an electric pallet jack, hand truck, U-boat and/or hydraulic trailer lift gate
  • Maneuver vehicle and equipment in congested areas with limited space and potential obstacles
  • Unload and deliver products to customers utilizing various methodologies that may include manual conveyors, carts, or pallets in multi-temperature environments
  • Reach above and below shoulder level, climb, crouch, stoop, push, pull and work in confined and uneven spaces
  • Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and store personnel
  • Accurate and timely completion of paperwork, included but not limited to, checking in and out inventory on trucks, sales invoices, accounting, reconciling total cash and sales with invoices, and properly documenting and handling damaged products.
  • Collect company assets to include payments, carts, pallets, returned products, etc.
  • Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment and vehicle
  • Responsible for maintenance and servicing of assigned delivery trucks; including checking fuel, oil, water and cleanliness of vehicle, etc.
  • Proper stock rotation in outlets and action for any over-aged products discovered on the route
  • Effectively communicate and maintain contact with supervisor, co-workers and customers
  • Present a professional public image and maintain a positive attitude that reflects favorably on the company
