About The Position

James Air Cargo is a proud family-owned last-mile trucking company servicing Northeast Ohio for more than 30 years. We are seeking reliable, motivated, and courteous drivers to join our seasoned staff. JAC drivers are responsible for making deliveries and pickups within our service area of Northeast Ohio. These range from corporations to residential deliveries. Our drivers must be willing to load/unload their freight at times. You will interact with our customers while making deliveries and pickups. All our drivers are home every night.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL is required.
  • Experience with manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Professionalism is a must.
  • General knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Communicate effectively with internal company employees and clients while maintaining standards of professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job - sitting, standing, and lifting to 14 hours a day.
  • Regularly and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Exhibits ability to read and interpret orders.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass a company background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Tow motor and pallet jack experience is a plus but will train and certify.

Responsibilities

  • Will operate various sized vehicles from tractor-trailers or straight trucks. (non-CDL)
  • Provide excellent customer service and on-time deliveries while working as part of a team to ensure that our customer's freight is handled properly.
  • Communicates well with dispatch.
  • Willing to operate carts, forklifts, and pallet jacks to assist customers in loading or unlocking freight.
  • Follow DOT/ and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
