The delivery driver will transfer products, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This role involves driving company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other building and maintenance supplies to customers' homes, construction sites, or places of business. The driver will also collect payment for COD orders, verify order details, and obtain customer signatures. Efficient route planning and accurate record-keeping are essential. The position requires excellent customer service skills, acting as a liaison between customers and store personnel, and resolving complaints. Responsibilities also include collecting empty containers or unsold merchandise, safely loading vehicles, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and appearance. Routine safety checks on vehicles are mandatory. Additionally, the driver will assist in the yard and warehouse with stocking, loading, and organizing materials, and help customers in the yard with loading and product questions when not driving. Compliance with all company safety standards and federal, state, and local laws is required. The role also includes operating a forklift and attending all store meetings and training sessions. Other related duties may be assigned.
