About The Position

Thatcher Chemical is seeking a Class 8 Diesel Truck Mechanic for their Salt Lake City plant. This role is crucial for maintaining the fleet that supports the creation of essential chemistries and solutions for clean water, safe environments, reliable infrastructure, and critical industries. The mechanic will perform inspections, repairs, and general maintenance on tractors and trailers, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the fleet. This purpose-driven work contributes to protecting public health and supporting communities.

Requirements

• Two + years of maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of liquid bulk tankers (Internal & External Valves, etc.)
• Must be able to Speak, Read & Write English proficiently
• Basic computer skills
• The ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
• The ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical

Nice To Haves

• Tanker experience is a plus, but not necessary
• A CDL with TX Endorsements is preferred, but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Perform P.M. inspections
• Conduct monthly trailer inspections
• Perform minor to medium repairs on tractors and trailers
• Track and order parts
• Manage inventory
• Perform basic computer duties
• Be available for call outs
• Perform tire replacement
• Perform brake replacement
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring issues
• Perform basic fleet maintenance
