About The Position

Bouchier is seeking a Skilled Utility Equipment Operator to join their team. This role is part of the roads and grounds division and involves operating a variety of heavy equipment. The primary objective is to execute tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety. The position is seasonal and located at Suncor McKay River with a 7 on / 7 off schedule, 12 hours per day. Local candidates are required as there is no camp or flights provided.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years Heavy Equipment experience
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License is required
  • Clean 5-year Driver Personal & Commercial Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Safety conscious attitude
  • Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
  • Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test
  • All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
  • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Operate all assigned heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed, graders, rock trucks, plow trucks, and water trucks in a safe and effective manner to support roads and grounds division.
  • Perform finish grading operations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and security of all assigned equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals, demonstrating adaptability to perform laborer duties as needed.
  • Proactively communicate any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives, including Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and safety meetings.
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance equipment operation techniques and efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, General Foreman and Site Manager
