About The Position

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking experienced Class 3 Operators for a position at the Imperial Oil site (Kearl). This role involves the safe operation of various Class 3 units. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all weather conditions. The position offers a 14 days on, 14 days off work schedule with camp and flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary. Requirements

  • Possess a valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, including up to 18 speed manual class 1 or 3 equipment.
  • Previous or related experience operating Combo Vac units.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Good, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive.
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, Drug and Alcohol and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
  • TDG knowledgeable
  • Minimum of 3 years manual transmission experience

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Combo Vac experience.
  • Mine drive experience is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous experience in the industrial sector.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Combo Vac units.
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.
  • Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field-level risk assessment, and pre/post-trip inspections.
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor.
  • Complete daily housekeeping of the assigned truck to ensure maintenance of the company image.
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all training is kept current.
  • Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide customer-focused services in all activities.
