About The Position

The Class 2 Engineer helps ensure the hotel environment is safe, efficient, and well maintained. This overnight role monitors central plant operations, maintains HVAC and other building equipment, and handles water treatment and refrigerant records. The engineer also supports other technicians, maintains HVAC supply inventory, and follows the hotel’s emergency, safety, and operating procedures.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience.
• At least two years of hotel and/or commercial building maintenance experience.
• At least one year of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment experience.
• Previous experience responding to emergency situations.
• Good communication, attention to detail, time management, computer, and guest satisfaction skills.
• Universal certification in refrigerant recovery.
• Hold required license as required.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to crawl for short periods.
• Ability to bend, reach overhead, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use step stools and ladders.

Nice To Haves

• Hotel experience and training are preferred.
• Commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor central plant operations and perform daily readings and testing.
• Maintain HVAC equipment throughout the building, including in guestrooms, public areas, and function rooms.
• Provide technical assistance to other technicians as needed.
• Work on other equipment as needed.
• Maintain inventory and order HVAC supplies.
• Understand and follow Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergency procedures.
• Understand and follow Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
• Perform all water treatment responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate refrigerant logs.
• Understand and follow HAZCOM, Lockout/Tagout, and Bloodborne Pathogen Programs.
• Keep the work area clear of standing water, debris, and objects that could prevent safe, efficient, and effective work.
