Class 1 Delivery Driver
About The Position
Sysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution. We are looking for talented, hard-working individuals to join our team. This role involves performing necessary pre and post trip inspections on a variety of equipment, reporting any vehicle maintenance issues, and keeping an accurate and up to date log book. The driver will deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows, immediately informing management of any deviations. Product will be unloaded from the trailer by hand or using a hand cart and placed in designated customer storage areas, which may include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions. The driver will operate an assigned STS unit to generate invoices, verify delivery of items with customers, and obtain proper signatures. They will contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoices occur and communicate all errors/returns. Following Sysco Safe preferred work methods at all times and immediately advising supervisors of any unsafe conditions is required. Maintaining sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer and assisting with maintaining the warehouse and yard when needed are also responsibilities. Attendance at all required company meetings is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Class 1 with a clean drivers abstract.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized with good communication skills.
- Ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
