As a Claims Intern, you’ll have a chance to join the Workers Compensation team, building your business acumen and making meaningful contributions to the business. Insurance claims involve evaluating and processing claims to ensure fair and timely compensation, which is essential for maintaining trust and satisfaction among policyholders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop problem-solving skills and gain insights into the claims process, which are highly valued in many career paths. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our location in Charlotte, NC.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student to qualify.
  • Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and work with adjusters to perform administrative duties including issuing payments and completing administrative tasks.
  • Participate in special projects such as continuous improvement strategies.
  • Support Claims professionals with large account management.
  • Assist in automating the department’s weekly scorecard, keeping track of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), helping to track results and report them out to various teams.
