About The Position

The Total Loss Adjuster is responsible for managing all aspects of total loss auto claims under general supervision. This role oversees the end‑to‑end handling of total loss files, including documentation review, payment processing, and record maintenance within the required claim systems. Key responsibilities include direct communication with vehicle owners, lienholders, the salvage department, and internal claims teams to resolve titling issues and finalize claim outcomes. The Total Loss Adjuster audits payments, verifies actual cash values, updates salvage classifications, and supports reporting and analytical activities. Additional duties may involve mentoring new team members, contributing to process improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred
  • 1-3 years Claims Experience Preferred
  • Moderate skills in using Microsoft Office products required. (Medium proficiency)
  • Moderate skill in using general office equipment required. (Medium proficiency)
  • Moderate verbal, telephone and written communication skills required. (High proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end processing of total loss claims by evaluating vehicle damage, confirming total loss determinations, negotiating settlements, and completing titling transactions in compliance with DMV, DOI, and company regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant claim records by updating Claims Center, reviewing valuations and coverage limits, issuing timely and correct payments, and ensuring all documentation supports fair claim resolution.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from members, claimants, lienholders, body shops, and vendors while effectively resolving disputes of varying complexity and clearly communicating next steps throughout the claim process.
  • Collaborate with team members by assisting other adjusters, supporting reporting and analysis activities, participating in pilot and process‑improvement initiatives, and completing assigned administrative responsibilities.
  • Utilize systems such as CCC One, ClaimsCenter, CSAToday, and TLO to verify valuations, coverage, and documentation accuracy, ensuring efficient and precise claim file management.
  • Secure required title documents by maintaining strong communication with vehicle owners and lienholders while managing responsibilities with increasing independence as experience develops.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements, including proper documentation practices and careful handling of confidential or technical information.
