About The Position

The Claims Supervisor is responsible for Tesla rental vehicle claims, with potential expansion to trucks and vans. This role manages claims from incident to resolution, ensuring thorough investigation, accurate documentation, and efficient handling. The Claims Supervisor will oversee team performance, scheduling, claim quality, and process improvements while collaborating with insurers, rental platforms, and internal fleet teams. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple claims in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, required
  • At least 2 years experience in claims, insurance, rental car, fleet or related experience
  • At least 1 years supervising a claims, insurance, rental car, fleet, or related operations team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a high volume of claims while maintaining accuracy and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, customers, vendors, repair facilities, and internal departments
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to research information across multiple systems and platforms
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Ability to hold team members accountable while providing appropriate coaching and support
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established processes

Nice To Haves

  • Prior rental car claims experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Tesla vehicles or EV fleets
  • Experience working with Turo, EON, Zevo, or similar rental platforms
  • Insurance claims experience
  • Demand and subrogation experience
  • Experience working with collision repair facilities and body shops
  • Experience reviewing repair estimates and invoices
  • Experience developing or improving claims workflows and operating procedures
  • Experience managing claims for a multi-location rental fleet

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of Tesla rental claims from notification through resolution and payment
  • Lead three Claims Representatives to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent claim handling
  • Review claims for accuracy, documentation, liability, damages, and financial recovery
  • Monitor open claims and follow up with customers, insurers, platforms, and repair shops
  • Escalate and promptly resolve complex claim issues
  • Maintain complete and accurate claim files
  • Hold Claims Representatives accountable for results, quality, productivity, and follow-up
  • Set clear team expectations, priorities, and performance standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development
  • Manage employee scheduling to maintain operating coverage
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members
  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
  • Investigate claims using multiple internal and external tools and data sources
  • Use Slack, Front, rental systems, telematics, records, photos, and repair files to establish timelines and responsibility
  • Analyze incident reports, agreements, insurance records, estimates, and invoices
  • Identify discrepancies, missing data, and liability risks to strengthen claims
  • Verify claims are fully documented before submitting to insurers or third parties
  • Work directly with adjusters to negotiate and settle claims
  • Maintain professional communication with insurance carriers
  • Manage platform claims, including EON, Turo, and Zevo
  • Understand specific claim and documentation rules for each partner platform
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from adjusters and platform partners
  • Track and follow up on pending payments, approvals, and claim decisions
  • Partner with the Fleet Department to inspect, repair, and return Teslas to service quickly
  • Audit repair estimates and invoices for accuracy and claim support
  • Coordinate with repair shops and fleet staff to clarify details
  • Minimize vehicle downtime through efficient claim and repair tracking
  • Resolve variances between estimates, completed work, and billing
  • Develop and maintain claims workflows, systems, and SOPs
  • Improve cycle times, productivity, collections, and documentation
  • Establish standard workflows and team accountability measures
  • Propose system and process upgrades to the Training & Operations Manager
  • Help create KPIs and reporting to evaluate claims performance
  • Drive operational efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Oversee demand and subrogation efforts
  • Ensure proper documentation to support recovery from responsible parties
  • Track open recovery opportunities
