A day in the life: As a Claims Representative for MMA, you will utilize your expertise and knowledge of claims processing to communicate with both Private Client Services and Business Insurance clients as well as carriers, and serve as the first point of contact for new claims. You will collect and organize claims data and, when needed, identify issues with claim resolution and possible escalation. Requirements

  • At least a year or more of claims service experience
  • Very effective oral and written communication skills as well as client relationship building skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills, highly detail oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline focused environment
  • Flexible to handle occasional after-hours claims emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree in Risk Management, Business or another related program
  • Exposure to Applied Epic
  • Property & Casualty license

Responsibilities

  • Take initial first report of claim, verify policy coverages/limits and explain thoroughly the claims process and expected timeframes to the policyholder.
  • Report claim to the insurance carrier, utilizing automation tools and real-time processes for all carriers with real-time capabilities
  • Submit proper documentation to all parties involved, including customers, carriers, police departments, etc.
  • Provide regular follow-ups to clients on outstanding claims as outlined in the agency procedures while also providing open claim reports to the account executive so they are aware of current status of open claims, especially escalations and conflicts.
  • Communicate large losses and significant reserve changes to account executive and management
  • Close out claims in the agency management system when final notice of payment is received
