Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance/legal profession dealing specifically with FLPL claims.
- In-depth understanding of policy language/coverage.
- Experience managing, evaluation, mediating and negotiating FLPL claims.
- In-depth knowledge of the U.S. legal system, civil litigation, and ADR proceedings.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of federal and state laws applicable to various claims presented under FLPL policies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience handling FLPL claims, including primary private and non-profit D&O claims is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling primary private and non-profit D&O, fiduciary liability (ERISA) and fidelity claims preferred.
- Carrier experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Active management of D&O and other Financial Lines claims within the Financial and Professional Lines (FLPL) Claims Group.
- Evaluate coverage.
- Draft coverage correspondence.
- Undertake claims investigations.
- Manage defense counsel and legal spend.
- Assess liability and financial exposure.
- Effectively negotiate cost effective, good faith claims resolutions.
