Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines, commercial lines and liability insurance.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze operational metrics.
  • Ability to manage an engaged and high-performing team.
  • Ability to develop your team’s skills and abilities.
  • Ability to set strategic directions, make decisions and communicate information.
  • Ability to collaborate.
  • Ability to lead change.
  • Bilingualism (English-French): Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking clients and colleagues across the country
  • No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada

  • Claims adjuster licence, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the onboarding of newly hired adjusters and their transition to operational teams.
  • Lead and coordinate your team’s operations to achieve profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Participate in strategic discussions relating to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Serve on select national committees.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the business plan and implement the structures required to achieve the department’s objectives, in accordance with business strategies and available financial, material and human resources.
  • Participate in the preparation of operating budgets.
  • Manage your team’s performance and support unit managers in implementing development and rehabilitation plans.
  • Help manage complaints that cannot be resolved by unit managers.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate activities with the Claims Training Team.
  • Approve payments that exceed unit managers’ authorization limits.
  • Actively participate in managing operations during weather-related catastrophes.
