About The Position

The Claims Associate position is a full-time role focused on obtaining proper credit from vendor partners and controlling inventory through proper merchandise handling procedures. This involves adhering to company guidelines while providing exceptional customer service to vendor partners, associates, and customers on the sales floor. The role also supports the Office Support Associate and Directs Store Delivery Associate as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in shrink prevention by scanning all damaged and stolen merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Maintains all up-to-date returns, vendor return requests (RA), recalls, paperwork, packing and shipping, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and within deadlines.
  • Handles all SORT and Global Donation Merchandise.
  • Ensures safety practices are continuously followed, including proper disposal of chemicals, maintaining a neat and hazard-free claims area, and correct ladder usage and lifting techniques.
  • Monitors merchandise being returned through claims and protects assets by ensuring proper process and handling regarding shrink to minimize chargebacks.
  • Records and monitors returns and shrink wins within the store.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of company policies, guidelines, and processes for handling damaged and recalled merchandise.
  • Ensures all New Store Programs and systems are implemented and followed continuously.
  • Ensures the Return Manual is followed by keeping claims current, minimizing chargebacks, and ensuring Vendor Return Request Forms are completed for all claims over 45 days old.
  • Completes all GM CVP (Customer Value Program).
  • Provides support to Office Support Associate (OSA) and Directs Store Delivery Associate as required.
