About The Position
The Claims Associate analyzes liability claims on behalf of Sedgwick’s clients to determine benefits due. The role ensures claims are adjudicated on an ongoing basis in accordance with service expectations, industry best practices, and client-specific service requirements. The position covers multiple state jurisdictions (16 states) and is based at Sedgwick’s Plano, Texas office, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Jurisdiction knowledge covering 16 states.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional certification applicable to the line of business.
- Texas license.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and process claims using well-developed action plans to reach appropriate and timely resolutions.
- Investigate claims and gather information to determine exposure.
- Negotiate claim settlements within designated authority.
- Communicate claim activity and processing to claimants and clients.
- Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction professionally and promptly.
