About The Position

The Jonus Group is seeking a Claims Assistant to support a busy claims organization in Richmond, VA. This temporary opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing administrative and operational support throughout the claims process. The Claims Assistant will work closely with claims professionals, helping ensure claims files and documentation are organized, accurate, and processed efficiently.

Requirements

Previous administrative, clerical, customer service, or insurance experience preferred.
Prior claims experience is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Strong computer and data-entry skills.
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

Prior claims experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative and clerical support to the Claims team.
Assist with the organization and maintenance of claims files and documentation.
Enter, update, and maintain claims information within internal systems.
Review incoming documentation and route information to the appropriate claims professional.
Assist with correspondence, forms, reports, and other claims-related documentation.
Track outstanding information and follow up as needed.
Assist Claims Adjusters with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation.
Ensure information is entered accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate professionally with internal departments and other parties as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of claims and company information.
Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
