As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling all assigned company property and casualty and/or subrogation claims in an efficient and accurate manner. Requirements
- 4-year bachelor’s degree. In lieu of degree, must have 2 years as an Adjuster -OR- 3 years in automobile repair, home and/or commercial construction, law enforcement, auto and/or property estimating.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds, such as a ladder.
- Physical agility to ascend/descend stairs/ladders, walk on roofs, crawl under houses/cars and maneuver over and around small barriers.
- Sit for long periods of time doing sedentary work such as paperwork and computer work.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather and working conditions, with some extended stay away from home.
Nice To Haves
- Computer skills with Excel and Word are preferred.
- AIC certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Handling all company property and casualty and/or subrogation claims assigned to the position in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Successfully complete the Alfa Adjuster training and other departmentally provided training to move to an Adjuster position during the period that the incumbent is an Adjuster Trainee.
- Maintain the company standard of professional claims handling by providing fast, fair claims service with a minimum of customer complaints.
- Contribute to the financial planning of the company by adequate reserving and controlling expenses.
- Assure control of claimants and insured to avoid lawsuits.
