About The Position

We are looking to fill a Claims Adjuster position based in Alberta. As our Claims Adjuster, you’ll be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and settling a wide variety of claims including personal, auto, farm, commercial, liability, and injury. Working within an assigned territory, you’ll play a critical role in delivering fair, timely, and thoughtful outcomes for our members, especially when they need us most.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in the insurance industry, ideally in claims adjusting
  • Progress toward or completion of CIP designation (or willingness to pursue)
  • Strong verbal and written communication with excellent interpersonal abilities
  • Confident in interviewing, conflict resolution, and reaching fair outcomes
  • Ability to interpret policy wordings and make sound, timely decisions
  • Resilience: Comfortable handling sensitive, complex, and sometimes high-stress situations
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage a dynamic workload and shifting priorities
  • Proficient with standard office technology and reporting tools
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays
  • Regularly travel to investigate claims, sometimes in challenging environments such as damaged structures, adverse weather, or hazardous conditions.
  • Requires focus, adaptability, and a willingness to step into complex real-world situations to get the job done right.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating claims, establishing reserves, and negotiating fair and equitable settlements
  • Interpreting and clearly communicating policy coverage to insureds, claimants, and legal representatives
  • Reporting complex or high-value claims to senior claims leadership
  • Preparing detailed reports, assessments, and documentation throughout the claims process
  • Representing Sandbox at industry and community events while maintaining strong relationships
  • Inspecting risks to support underwriting insights and loss prevention efforts
  • Traveling within your assigned territory to conduct on-site investigations
  • Supporting continuous improvement and taking on additional responsibilities as needed
