About The Position

The Civilian Security Officer is a full-time position responsible for maintaining security and safety at the facility. This role involves monitoring entrances, checking identification, managing the Security Dispatch Center, handling card and dice inspection, issuing badges, assisting guests, and reporting safety concerns. The position requires a thorough understanding of the casino's facilities and adherence to safety protocols. Civilian officers are not law enforcement and do not handle disturbances or arrests.

Requirements

  • Stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop.
  • Use manual dexterity, follow directions, and adhere to detail.
  • Regular use of eye/hand coordination.
  • Unable to act as current law enforcement security officers and cannot assist with disturbances or arrests.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically posted at the facility’s three entrances 24 hours a day to observe guests entering and departing the property.
  • Check identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law.
  • Staff the Security Dispatch Center 24 hours a day, answering phones, monitoring radio communications, and surveillance cameras (non-gaming areas).
  • Dispatch appropriate responses utilizing Surveillance, Fire/EMS, Police, and other departments in a coordinated manner.
  • Maintain CAD (computer aided dispatch) log for all calls for service.
  • Staff the Card and Destruction Room 7 days a week, inspecting and canceling all cards and dices removed from the gaming floor daily.
  • Maintain logs of all visitors, staff, and inventory that enters the Destruction Room.
  • Staff the Badging Office to create and modify C-Cure badges for staff, vendors, and visitors.
  • Maintain all logs in the CAD (computer aid dispatch).
  • Monitor surveillance cameras (non-gaming areas).
  • Possess extensive knowledge of all Twin River Casino’s facilities.
  • Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
  • Rove self-parking lots, valet, exterior of casino, and staff the badge office for employee check distribution and issuance of temporary badges.
  • Report any observations concerning hazardous, dangerous, or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees to security immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
