About The Position

Central Business Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Civil Trial Attorney for a full-time, hybrid position based in Fullerton, California. The attorney will manage civil litigation matters from inception through trial, verdict, and appeal, handling all aspects of discovery, motion practice, and client representation. This role requires a strong understanding of California civil procedure and evidence, as well as proven trial advocacy skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of civil litigation defense experience and a successful track record as first-chair counsel in multiple jury and bench trials.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 8 years of civil litigation defense experience.
  • Significant experience handling matters through all stages of litigation, including appeals.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a complex caseload.
  • Candidates must have served as first-chair counsel in at least 6 jury trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.
  • Candidates must have served as first-chair counsel in at least 3 bench trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.
  • Knowledge of California Evidence Code.
  • Knowledge of California Civil Procedure.
  • Knowledge of California Appellate Procedures.
  • Knowledge of California State Superior Court practice.
  • Knowledge of Federal Court procedures.
  • Knowledge of rules of evidence and trial advocacy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and case management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil litigation matters from inception through trial, verdict, and appeal.
  • Conduct case evaluations and develop strategic litigation plans.
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including written discovery and depositions.
  • Prepare, draft, and argue motions, including dispositive motions and Motions in Limine.
  • Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and experts while maintaining thorough case documentation.
  • Coordinate expert witness retention, preparation, and testimony.
  • Provide clients with regular case updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor legal developments and advise clients on potential impacts to ongoing matters.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, advocacy, and client service.
